Bharathi Pandi, PhD

Bharathi Pandi, Ph.D., is the Co-founder and CSO of SmaBio Labs. He is an accomplished synthetic organic and medicinal chemist with more than 18 years of experience in large and small pharmaceutical company environments. Before founding SmaBio Labs, Bharathi was Director of Molecular Research at AMVAC where he was leading NCE discovery program in the field of pesticides.  

Bharathi has extensive experience in small molecule drug discovery and has worked with many large companies like Merck, GSK and Eli Lilly. Bharathi has worked in human health, animal health and agrochemical products development during his days at Scynexis, Avista Pharma and Cambrex. He has worked in projects from hit-to-lead to candidate selections. One of such programs is identification of DNDI-6148, a novel Benzoxaborole preclinical for the treatment of Visceral Leishmaniasis. His work on developing a scalable process for SCYX-314 has led to partnering a lead compound with big-pharma company.
